Frequently Asked Questions

Home FAQ

What do I need to bring?

The physiotherapist will examine you and will need to be able to see the area for treatment, so may ask you to undress. Undressing to underwear is good but you may prefer to bring shorts, if the problem is lower limb.

If you are claiming via insurance we ask that you bring membership and authorisation codes to the initial assessment session.

How many visits will I need?

At the initial appointment the physiotherapist will take a history, assess the problem and will then be able to discuss what the problem is with you and how it can be remedied. A plan for treatment may be discussed with you and an estimate of the required number of treatment sessions will be made. In some cases only one session may be required but most problems can be resolved within five sessions.

Getting a good background to the problem at this initial session is necessary to treat you and prevent any recurrences of the problem. This initial session will therefore be a longer session but will also include treatment if appropriate.

How do I make an appointment?

An appointment can be made by contacting the clinic via email, phone or directly via our website.

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

We are able to see patients without a Doctor’s referral, however some Insurance policies do require a consultation with your Doctor first.

What should I wear to my appointment?

The physiotherapist will require you to reveal the area to be treated. For lower limbs a pair of shorts is ideal. For upper limbs a vest top or similar works well.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment(s)?

We ask for 24 hours notice if you can’t attend your appointment, otherwise a charge may apply. Contact the clinic via phone or email to reschedule or cancel your appointment.

What is a Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

They can offer advice on posture and ergonomics, help to manage ongoing conditions and rehabilitate you after an injury or illness, including sports injuries.

On the other hand we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment so blinded by desire that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound.
